The University of Ibadan Alumni Association conferred meritoriously the award of WORTHY AMBASSADOR on the Ace Broadcaster and Mediapreneur who is also the Group Managing Director, Yemi Sonde Media Group, Mr Yemi Sonde, arpa MCA MPDI. The award was conferred meritoriously for his outstanding achievements then as a student of the Premier University of Ibadan and his present dispensation as a Media Practitioner and philantropist of note. Yemi Sonde who was awarded in company of some other notable alumni and philantropist in Nigeria like His Royal Majesty, Sabiganna of Iganna Land Ọba Saliu Azeez, HRM Ọba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Emugoriade 1, Chief Engr Dọtun Sanusi, Dr Fola Akinosun, Mr Greg Odutayo, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode the Executive Chairman Ìbàdàn South East Local Government and a host of others. NUJ mourns retired Deputy Director of Radio Niger

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Niger State Council, has expressed sadness over the demise of retired Deputy Director, News of Radio Niger, Mr Sunday Abraham, saying his death was not only a loss to the family, Radio Niger, but the entire media industry. Mr. Abraham died  at his residence in Maikunkele, Bosso Local Government Area of the state. In a condolence message signed by the State Secretary of NUJ, Comrade Usman Muhammad Chiji, the council described late Abraham as one of the finest, experienced and committed journalists, who mentored many to become professionals in the media sector. According to him, Mr Sunday Abraham died at a time his services were mostly needed in the area of mentoring young journalists for better performance as entrenched in the four thematic areas of the present leadership of NUJ in the state.
