Family Love FM's Ohuabunwa Indicates Interest To Vie For Chairmanship Of BON
At a time the broadcasting sector is witnessing stringent sanctions and threats, Multimesh Media Group boss, Godfrey Ohuabunwa has indicated interest to vie for the chairmanship of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON).
Sir Ohuabunwa in a statement made available to newsmen indicated his interest to run for the broadcasting organizations top job ahead of its annual general meeting (AGM) coming up in Kano on October 7th 2021.
Currently, the vice-chairman of BON, Ohuabunwa is a pioneer member, outstanding broadcaster and Chairman of Multimesh Media Group, a leading Cable Satellite Television, FM Radio station and Content production company with its head office in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
The BON vice-chairman said his motivations are hinged on the need to continue to expand on the successes already gained and to make BON a global industry player that is truly the mouthpiece of the organized broadcast media in Nigeria.
He said “my mission is to make BON a truly unified umbrella body of the broadcast industry in Nigeria, with purposeful leadership and influence. To harness and develop the huge and diverse cultures and talents of Nigeria’s, film and movie industry to be the number one creative market in the world".
“To develop, promote and protect the business of broadcasting as a professional vocation that is self-regulating and profitable,” he Ohuabunwa said.
In the last 27 years, he has gained great experience in managing large and multilateral associations; haven being the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture; vice-chairman Association of Cable Operators of Nigeria (ACON), a director of the International Association of Television Arts and Science.
Ohuabunwa studied English Language and Literature at the University of Maiduguri as well as a graduate of BBC Broadcast School, London and Harvard Business School, USA.
