It became a big media war in Ibadan especially between Splash FM and Fresh FM.

By the second year of Fresh FM, the crew of Gospel Tungba crooner has successfully displaced Petals FM, Space FM and before you know it, the much experienced and well exposed management of West Midlands, owners of Splash and Lagelu FM were up to the task
They were not ready to be dislodge by the antics and threat poised by the NEW DAWN and were battle ready for cold war.

Of course, people of Ibadan had literally forgotten about Premier FM who took shine from Oluyole FM. ..they had been longing and thirsty to be fed with genuine news and programs not just state and Federal government propangada which they are been fed with.

Though these government mouthpiece in form of radio stations, later upped their game by becoming more professional and position themselves for the new challenges poised by the dynamism brought about by the private station..

Another thing that worked for Ayefele was his innovation of making use to the maximum, the social media..

Apart from the fact that the design of his studio and the equipment therein were among the very best not only in Nigeria but Africa has a whole, listeners across the continent of the world can watch and listen to Ayefele online from the town which many tagged rusty and sleepy, Ibadan nile Oluyole!

Right now I've lost count of the private radio stations in Ibadan alone, Inspiration FM came from Lagos, IBR, Cool, Jamz, AIT, 32FM etc flooded Ibadan..

I'm sure by now Ibadan can boast of 25radio station and about 50 online radios..

My questions are,

A) are these radio stations really established to educate and inform truly or are they just established purposely for monetary gains?

B) What are the philosophies behind the establishments of these radio stations?

C) Do they have their unique contents designed to touch people's heart or programs that are worth listening to?

D) Are they even paying their workers or just exploiting Youths of the state who has no option than to accept leaving their abode everyday?

E) Do we have professionalism at all in the industry..

F)What's the role of the State Ministry of information and the state's chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalist in making sure that what we had in Ibadan is not just a noise making outfit but a truly informative,,educative and entertaining media outfits

G) Is their any training and development scheme at various radio station to develop the so called OAPs in Ibadan?

These are some of the salient questions begging for answers as I write this piece with a very heavy heart because the more I listen to radio stations, the more I miss the radio station.. 
Anyway not until you listen to AROKA FM, you haven't listen to anything.. 
Not yet..
